The story of good news is the story of God calling people back to Himself. The story begins at creation. God created this world good and offered the opportunity of unbroken fellowship. But...things went wrong. Because of the rebellion of man against God, this perfect state of fellowship was broken. Sin entered the story, and with that sin, we became broken image bearers.
What creation originally was intended to be was now damaged. God has purposefully continued the story. Because He is a God of grace and mercy, He sent His only Son, Jesus, who came and lived a perfect life and offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sin on the cross. Jesus endured the full and complete wrath of God on behalf of sin. It was a moment of suffering and death, yet hope was realized as Christ rose three days later from the grave.
The God of this universe sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear His wrath against sin on the cross and to show His power over sin in the resurrection so that all who have faith in Him will be reconciled to God forever. That is good news… and that is the Gospel of God providing peace through Jesus Christ.
What once was broken can now be restored through His Son. God takes people from every walk of life who are broken and makes them new. We urge you to explore this story further. What God starts, He will bring to completion, and we pray that you would be included into the story of good news. The story line includes…
The character of God
God is the just and gracious Creator of all things. By faith… we must realize we belong to Him, are accountable to Him, and are created to glorify Him.
The sinfulness of man
We are each created by God, but we are all corrupted by sin. By faith… we just admit areas of rebellion, be honest with God about sin, and turn from it.
The sufficiency of Christ
Jesus is the only way to have a perfect relationship with God. Christ alone is able to remove our sin and make us right before God through His death. He alone satisfies the wrath of God for our sins. By faith… we need to recognize that we are not able to save ourselves apart from Jesus Christ.
The necessity of faith
We are able to become the friend of God only through faith in Jesus. There is nothing we can do to work our way to heaven or to become right with God. By faith...meaning the faith that leads to salvation involves turning from sin. We turn to Jesus and trust in Him as Lord, confess Him as Lord and Savior.
The reality of eternity
Where we will spend eternity is dependent on our response to Jesus. By faith...ask God to save you of your sins, put your faith in Jesus Christ and confess Him as Lord.
